How to Set Up a Proxy in Vision Browser

I set up and test proxies inside antidetect browsers on a regular basis, and Vision Browser has become one of the tools buyers ask about most. The setup is short, but Vision adds a few checks that most antidetect browsers do not, including a live geo-database lookup and a passive device read on the proxy itself. This guide walks through the whole process with real screenshots, from installing the browser to confirming a clean fingerprint. Here is the quick version before the full walkthrough.

TL;DR

Create a folder in Vision Browser, then create a profile and paste your full CatProxies proxy string into the proxy field. Vision auto-detects the format, checks the connection, and reads the exit location and device. Pick HTTP or SOCKS5 to match your plan, leave the rest on default, and start the profile.

For the format: paste the whole proxy line and let Vision split it into host, port, username, and password.

For the protocol: HTTP or SOCKS5 is not auto-detected. You must set it to match your CatProxies settings.

Core point: one generated proxy is enough for one browser profile.

Key Takeaways

You only need one proxy per browser profile. The proxy count in the generator controls how many you create, not how many a single profile needs.

Vision auto-detects the proxy format, but not the protocol. HTTP and SOCKS5 must be selected by hand to match your plan.

The check button reads the exit location from a geo database (MaxMind by default, with IP2Location as an option). Different databases can report slightly different locations for the same IP.

Vision reads the proxy device with p0f and may show Windows, macOS, or Android, or nothing at all. A blank result is normal and is not a sign of a bad proxy.

Static ISP proxies are the better choice for long term browsing and account management, because the IP stays stable over time.

How This Was Set Up

The steps below come from a live CatProxies plan and a real Vision Browser install on Windows. Each screenshot shows the actual settings used, including the proxy check, the device read, and the final fingerprint test. The examples use several different exit IPs so you can see how Vision reports each one.

Step 1: Install Vision Browser and Create a Folder

After you download and open Vision Browser, it opens on the Browsers screen. On a fresh install it looks like this, and it may open in light mode instead of dark.

Before you can create a profile, Vision asks you to create a folder first. This is slightly unusual and can be confusing if you are used to other antidetect browsers. Not everyone needs folders, but Vision uses them to keep profiles organized. Click New folder, then choose a name, a color, and an icon.

Step 2: Activate the Free Trial

You can opt in to a four day trial from your Vision dashboard at my.browser.vision. The plan shows in the My profile area with the days remaining.

After you click to activate the trial, Vision asks you to link a Telegram account. A bot sends you a direct message with a button to confirm the trial. It works quickly, and it most likely just adds you to their customer list. For your privacy, it is a good idea to stop or block the bot once the trial is confirmed.

Step 3: Create a Profile

Back in the downloaded browser, click to create a new profile. Vision shows a lot of options, and the panel on the right previews the fingerprint it will use, including platform, user agent, canvas, WebGL, timezone, and more.

Feel free to look around, but the safe choice is to leave everything on default unless you truly know what you are changing. Vision’s automatic settings work well, and manual changes can do more harm than good. The one thing you do need to set here is the proxy.

Step 4: Add Your Proxy and Check It

Click Add under the proxy options, then paste the whole proxy string into the proxy field. Vision auto-detects the format no matter which layout you use, as long as the proxy itself is correct.

Paste the full proxy into the field, then use the check button next to it to test the connection and read the location.

The button next to the field checks whether the proxy is working and gives a best guess at the location, based on the geo database Vision is using. By default that is MaxMind, with IP2Location available as an option. One setting is not auto-detected: you must select HTTP or SOCKS5 yourself to match your CatProxies settings, or the profile will fail to connect.

A note on geo databases

Geo databases do not always agree. MaxMind, IP2Location, and services like ipinfo.io can each report a slightly different location for the same IP, because they build their data differently. This matters because Vision sets the profile timezone and related settings from the location it detects. If your provider tells you the true location of the IP differs from what one database shows, this is the point where it makes sense to adjust the timezone by hand, so you avoid a mismatch later. When in doubt, ask your provider which database reflects the IP most accurately.

Step 5: Read the Device Result from p0f

Once the profile is created, it appears in your list with a small line under the proxy. That line can show an operating system, such as Windows, macOS, or Android, and this comes from p0f.

A profile whose proxy exit reads as Windows 11 under p0f.

p0f is a passive operating system fingerprinting tool. It does not send any probes to the proxy. It reads the shape of the network packets the connection uses (details such as the TCP window size, the time to live, and the ordering of TCP options) and matches that signature against a database of known operating systems. From that alone, Vision makes a guess at the device on the far end of the proxy.

The label describes the exit point of the proxy, not your own computer. A residential IP that leaves through a mobile device often reads as Android. An IP that terminates on a server may read as Windows, macOS, or Linux. You will see different results across different IPs, and that is normal.

A different proxy on the same setup reads as Android, a common result for a mobile exit.

Another exit reads as macOS. The device shown depends entirely on the individual IP.

Sometimes no operating system is shown at all. That simply means p0f could not match the connection to a known signature, either because the proxy normalizes the packets or because the signature is not in its database. A blank result is normal and does not mean the proxy is bad.

An exit with no device shown. p0f had nothing to match against for this IP, which is fine.

The device read is informational. It hints at the kind of exit behind the IP, but you do not need to match it to your profile, because Vision sets the browser fingerprint separately.

Step 6: Start the Profile and Verify the Fingerprint

After you start the profile, Vision opens the browser and shows a summary of the session, including the IP, location, system, and language, so you can confirm everything lines up before you browse.

The Vision Browser start page confirms the IP, location, system, and language for the session.

To be sure the fingerprint holds, run a check with a tool like Pixelscan. It reports whether the browser fingerprint is consistent and whether any proxy or masking is detected. From our tests, Vision Browser performs well across these checks.

Which Proxy Type to Choose for Vision Browser Profiles

For normal browsing and social media management, static ISP proxies are the better fit, because the IP stays stable over the long term. For account creation, residential proxies or mobile proxies are the usual recommendation. The more often an account changes IP, the worse it tends to be for the account status, so a stable IP matters most for long term work such as social media management.

There are no genuine long term static residential proxies, because nobody can guarantee a residential peer stays connected to a network sharing app. A provider that sells long term static residential proxies is either mislabelling them or sourcing from a botnet of infected devices. For a stable long term IP, static ISP proxies are the honest option.

Common Misconceptions

“The operating system p0f shows has to match my profile.” It does not. The p0f label describes the device behind the proxy exit, while Vision sets your browser fingerprint separately. The read is informational, not a setting you need to align.

“If Vision detects the format, it also detects the protocol.” No. Vision fills in host, port, username, and password automatically, but HTTP and SOCKS5 are not auto-detected. You must select the protocol to match your CatProxies plan.

“A blank device read means the proxy is broken.” No. A blank p0f result only means the connection did not match a known signature. The proxy can still be working perfectly, which the check button and a Pixelscan test will confirm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to create a folder before adding a proxy in Vision Browser?

Yes. Vision Browser requires at least one folder before you can create a profile. Click New folder, give it a name, a color, and an icon, then create your profile inside it. Folders are used to keep profiles organized and to manage access in teams.

Does Vision Browser auto-detect the proxy format?

Yes, for the format. Paste the full proxy string and Vision splits it into host, port, username, and password automatically. The protocol is the exception. You must select HTTP or SOCKS5 by hand to match your CatProxies settings, or the connection will fail.

Why does Vision Browser show a different operating system for each proxy?

Vision reads the proxy with p0f, a passive fingerprinting tool that guesses the operating system from the connection’s network signature. The result reflects the device at the proxy exit, so a mobile exit may read as Android and a server exit may read as Windows or macOS. A blank result is normal and does not indicate a problem.

Which geo database should I trust for the location?

Vision uses MaxMind by default, with IP2Location as an option, and other services like ipinfo.io exist too. They can report slightly different locations for the same IP. For static ISP proxies the location is stable, so if a database and your provider disagree, ask your provider which source reflects the IP most accurately and adjust the timezone if needed.

Which CatProxies proxy type is best for Vision Browser?

Static ISP proxies are best for long term browsing and social media management, because the IP stays stable. Residential and mobile proxies are better for account creation. Frequent IP changes tend to hurt account status, so a stable IP is preferable for profiles you keep for a long time.

How do I confirm a Vision Browser profile is set up correctly?

Start the profile and check the summary on the start page, which shows the IP, location, system, and language. Then run a fingerprint test with a tool like Pixelscan to confirm the fingerprint is consistent and no proxy or masking is detected.

Set up correctly, Vision Browser gives each profile a clean, consistent fingerprint on a stable CatProxies IP.
